Lu-Lu was the most special, fun-loving, adventurous, knowledgeable, a gifted person that I know and loved. I went to school with her. We stayed friends all these years, we had a click in school. Not many people stay true and faithful friends after all those years. It's very rare but we did, we accepted each other no matter-we never judged or how far we were from each other, we could pick up the phone and seem it was just yesterday we talked. Lu-Lu had a way with people no matter who she meet, she made friends with. No matter what time of night you called her she would listen if you had a problem or just shoot the bull. I still have her number in my cell phone, cause she is still with me but the only thing I can't dial the number cause she won't answer. I know physically she's not here but in my heart my friend is always with me. She always knew what to say or she would make things seem that it isn't so bad. I admire her -- she lived life to the fullest and never showed fear. Lu-Lu shared the good and bad times of my life: school, wedding, birth of my child and divorce. We had some good times, I can't remember ever a bad moment with her. They broke the mold when Lu-Lu came into this world. I thank Miss. Helene for coming to Buras and sharing her with me and our friends. The song I can't drive 55 reminds me of her and especially Led Zeppelin songs we would sing on the school bus. She loved playing her guitar and just living life. She still makes me laugh. Lu-Lu will always live on.... If you truly knew her you would laugh also and she will always be a part of your life. Lu-Lu would go on one of her adventures but no matter what I always found her. I use to tell her you can run but you can't hide cause I would always find her. My life would have been missing something, if I didn't know her and or shared those wonderful times with her. Her Friend, Linda (from kids to adults) |

My big sister
Let me just start by saying that Ann (AKA) "Lulu" was my big sister. We had so many good times together. SHe really taught me how to live it up.. I remember 4 yrs ago. for Christmas how she made our mom & me cut down a tree for Christmas.. She went to buy a permit & dressed us up as astronauts (due to the cold weather) just so we could have a tree. It was the "best Christmas I ever had.. We always had so much fun laughing at the presents we exchanged for Christmas (some of them were even gag gifts.. What I remember most about my beautiful sister was her humble nature.. Always pleased & content with the simple things in life.. She was everything to me a big sister, my best friend & my hero in many ways.. I also remember for Mardi Gras a few years ago She & Missy were down visiting & we were standing on Carrolton st. awaiting the Endymion parade to pass their were parties everywhere.. Anyway we ended up in someone's backyard .. Their were tables full of food but No One was to be found.. Everyone was in the house.. SO Missy started fixing herself a plate, so did my sister & so did I.. we laughed till the night ended.. I am going to miss so many good times with her.. She always cheered me up when I was down..We had so much fun recording songs together (growing) up.. I'll never forget her & I cannot wait to see her again.. I love you Lulu.. Your little sis.. First, let me encourage everyone to make sure they click on "View Comments" as many people have written inspirational things about Ann/Lulu/Annie and it's very heartwarming.
My wife (Anne) and I had a difficult but in some ways beautiful visit to Colorado last week. It was great to meet all of my sister's friends there and everyone in the community was SO helpful and had such fond things to say about her life and everyone remarked how truly inspirational she was to them. Would that we could all live life so successfully and be such a blessing to everyone.
Although everyone is so very sad that we can't 'see' her from day to day, I know we see her in our hearts, in our dreams and in our mind's eye.
I will compile a journal outlining our rememberances of that visit. Colorado is such a 'slice of heaven' and I'm so glad she was surrounded by such beautiful friends and vistas.Current Mood: peaceful Current Music: "I say no"

...Thanks for contributing these stories, I laughed out loud at the 'ghost' prank and to know that Annie's spirit lives on in the hearts of her friends and co-workers. I can't wait to visit with Kali and Kathy and with all the folks at Heritage Park. I'm considering our trip there to be a 'spiritual journey' and look forward to it with anticipation and lots of mixed emotions about being in her 'space' and with her friends.
I was just remembering all the fun we had whenever we'd meet in New Orleans for holidays and visits. She would drive us around and we'd go to hear music in the French Quarter or eat some great food! THANKS!Current Mood: calm Current Music: NPR

Hi, please feel free to contribute thoughts, memories, stories, prayers about Ann. This will be very much appreciated by friends and family.
I'll just begin by relating some brief recollections of our visit with her a couple of years ago in Colorado. She was so in love with the area she was living in and couldn't wait to show us the Crystal Mill, the hot springs in Glenwood, the little Mexican restaurant in Carbondale and many other places she called home. We went on a beautiful hike in the Marroon Bells, walked around Aspen (she had to buy me a fleece jacket at the 2nd hand store because it was so cold that summer day).
We had so much fun riding motorcycles through the mountains and around Redstone and playing with all her pets. We cooked dinner, played our guitars, sang and made music with the beautiful mountain setting in the background.
It reminded me of when we were kids and we used to play 'adventure games' in the backyard and around the neighborhood. We'd explore 'wilderness' places and pretend to be frontier people moving into untamed territory. Lulu (I always called my sister Ann that), was great at sports and we'd play touch football and ride our bikes all over the neighborhood, she was usually faster and stronger than I was and quite a competitor! I'm missing her tons now and hope to hear lots of stories about what she thought and felt from those who were close to her. - Lenny (click Leave a Comment and post anonymously if you don't have a live journal account)Current Mood: peaceful Current Music: "I Know"
